stART Ubwile Exhibition an Overwhelming Success!

stART’s second Private View Exhibition – UBWILE! – held at 37d Gallery was an overwhelming success.  So much so, that parking on Middleway for the 200 people who attended the event was bumper to bumper!

With signature, 37d style (including Prosecco and The Deli’s nibbles) and  with a great mix of artists, art lovers, the press,  business leaders, buyers and other significant movers and shakers,  the gathering set a new standard of excellence and promises to liven up the Lusaka art scene.

Over 80% of the top quality artwork presented – sculptures and carvings by Flinto Chandia and paintings by Stary  Mwaba – was successfully sold.   Stary says he is now able to buy a new car… How’s that for empowerment!?

Meanwhile, the JUST IMAGINE exhibition of children’s artwork from stART’s Lusaka and Mfuwe workshops was alive with energy and colour and demonstrates exactly how the stART Foundation’s major exhibitions link in and link up with stART’s programmes and projects to promote art among disadvantaged young Zambians.
