Patrick Bentley Photography Exhibition ‘Timeless’

Patrick is a professional Zambian photographer specialising in fine art black and white images of the natural world. Throughout his career he has consistently won awards for his work and has been exhibited in the National Geographic gallery, the Natural History Museum in London as well as the Smithsonian in Washington DC.

Timeless is a new collection of fine art photography. In this captivating work he draws inspiration from one of Africa’s true remaining wildernesses. ‘Wherever I go I am always drawn back to the Luangwa Valley. It is a magical place, unforgivably harsh at times and abundantly lush and fruitful at others. It is Africa as it used to be.”

In this collection Patrick’s photographic language speaks of simplicity, created by empty space and the medium of monochrome. His sense of atmosphere and composition blur the line between photography and art. The animals in his photographs are profoundly iconic, sentient characters creating a narrative of the Luangwa Valley, one of the last truly wild places remaining on this continent. Vast. Remote and timeless.

The Exhibition opened on the 1st of September where Patrick’s photographs, all in black & white, lined the halls of the gallery. The exhibition opening was a beautiful night, with a medium of art which has not been recently seen at the gallery in years, it created a fantastic atmosphere with an exciting buzz. Thank you to all those who made the evening such a success. It is wonderful to have so many volunteers help to raise money for The Start Foundation.
